"For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord..."
2 Corinthians 4:5

Why You Can Trust God's Word
At First Baptist, we believe the Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17). It reveals who God is, how He has worked throughout history to redeem us through Jesus Christ, and how we can live a life that pleases Him. When you hear God’s Word preached here, you’ll notice we don’t rely on personal opinions or popular ideas. Instead, we carefully explain and apply the meaning of Scripture, trusting that when we hear His Word we will "receive it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God," which produces real, transformative results in the believer’s heart and life (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
How God Uses His Word to Transform Your Life
The faithful proclamation of God’s timeless Word is one of the primary means God uses to sanctify His people and build His church (John 17:17; Romans 10:14-17). Through the proclamation of Scripture, the Holy Spirit convicts, corrects, and comforts us, shaping us more into the image of Christ. Our goal is not merely to offer practical advice but to declare the truths of God’s sovereign grace and His call to live under the lordship of Christ in every area of life.
As you hear God’s Word preached, you will be challenged with your need for the gospel, reminded of God’s unchanging promises, and exhorted to walk in obedience by the power of His Spirit. Preaching is not just for information but for transformation—calling you to trust in Christ alone, grow in holiness, and persevere in faith for the glory of God.

Doors provide entry, security, and access—but what if the most important door wasn’t made of wood or metal? In John 10:7-10, Jesus declares, "I am the door of the sheep," revealing that He alone is the way to salvation, the source of true security, the provider of spiritual nourishment, and the key to an abundant life. Join us as we explore what it means to walk through the only door that leads to eternal life, and how you can experience the fullness of Christ today.
